Wife clipped a deer on the freeway at 4:30 this morning. She’s fine and the car is surprisingly lightly damaged. Still driveable but obviously needs work. This is going to be an interesting introduction to my new insurance company that I just switched to last week.

Damn. It didn’t set off the airbag, did it?

Held up better than I’d imagined.
We also ran over a deer in the Outback the other night, but it had the benefit of already being dead.

Glad to hear she is okay, my brother hit a deer with his crx when he was in college and his car, um... fared worse, to put it lightly. Good luck with the claim.

t least the air bags didn’t go off. A friend of mine totaled her brand new Escape when she hit a deer. Mainly because all 247 airbags went off. The actual damage to the car was minimal.

Deer are some of the most inconsiderate ungulates known to Science.

Yeah most important thing is she’s ok. When she called I was expecting way worse.

That Outback is a tank. I was expecting way worse damage when she called and said she hit a deer on the highway.

Apparently it flew so far she couldn’t find it but I do have venison in the freezer already that a buddy of mine shot earlier in the year so come over whenever.

Nope. Also the radiator appears to untouched so we should be able to drive it to the body shop. I expect this to be repairable without coming anywhere close to totaling the car.

Yeah still sucks but it could’ve been a lot worse.
